Beth Hammock’s experience as a TV producer prepared her well for a career in public relations and nonprofit marketing. She guides our team in finding stories to illustrate messages using words, images, video, and audio. We have seen strategic storytelling and donor recognition inspire greater giving over and over.  

In addition to being brand storytellers, we are public relations strategists. Beth has led development and communications positions at universities and nonprofit organizations across the country:

  • Vice President for Advancement and Communications, Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, 2020.

  • Campaign Director and Interim Director of Development, Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s Botanical Garden, 2017-2018.

  • Vice President of Strategic Communications and Marketing at the University of Montana Foundation, 2010-2014.

  • Director of Development Communications at the University of Missouri, Columbia, from 2005-2010.

  • Director of Communications, Missouri Office of the Attorney General, 2003-2005.

  • Director of Community Relations, Independence (Mo.) School District, 2001-2003.

A 150% increase in fundraising productivity in the four years she was VP of marketing and communications at the University of Montana Foundation.

The success of the largest campaign in Montana history for which she laid the communications groundwork.

Planning Mizzou’s celebration of topping a $1 billion campaign goal and the donor communications that went into achieving the goal.

Earning Accreditation in Public Relations through the Public Relations Society of America.

Receiving a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the Missouri School of Journalism with a broadcast news emphasis.

When she has time to relax, Beth spends time with her family, gardens, and walks in the woods. After raising four children, she is happy to be a grandmother. After living all over the country, including 18 years in Kansas City, Beth moved to St. Louis to be near her daughter and her family. She shares her home with a beautiful Welsh Corgi.
